The brief
The owners wanted a bathroom that two people could use at once on busy mornings, with lots of storage and a warmer feel than the cold white tiles they had.
What we did
We stripped the room back to brick and joists, then replaced the old pipework in plastic so we could move the basins to one long wall. That made space for a wall-hung walnut vanity with two basins and deep drawers.
The walls and floor are in large stone-effect porcelain, which keeps grout lines to a minimum and is easy to clean. We built a slatted timber storage column into the recess beside the vanity and fitted a backlit mirror on its own switch.
The walk-in shower has a concealed thermostatic valve in brushed steel, so the temperature stays steady even when someone runs a tap downstairs. A new extractor fan runs quietly on a humidity sensor.
